Some clutches are meant for a five-star dinner, some are meant for black-tie events, and some are for a night on the town with friends. The latter needs to be cute, sturdy, but not super expensive. We all know that a night at the bar can end in spilled alcohol, even if it is not your own. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Button Clutch is cheap and practical. The stone soft leather is a neutral color, easy to wear with many outfits. There is an oversized Marc Jacobs button detail on the front, along with contrast stitching. The option of a wrist handle is the perfect addition for those of you who love to hit the dance for. Swing the clutch around while you shake your groove thang. The price is right; $248 at Net A Porter.

Are you ga-ga for green or is this green handbag gross? The Chloe Audra Patent Satchel is designed with shocking green patent leather and is finished off with silvertone hardware. Contrasting trim adds a dimension to the bag, as does the front pocket with turn-lock closure. There are double top shoulder straps with an 8″ drop. On the inside, like many Chloe bags, there is canvas lining and a zip pocket. Dimensions are 15½”W X 10″H X 7″D. Available at Saks for $1755.

The Louis Vuitton Suhali line costs a pretty penny but appeals to the crowd that loves Louis Vuitton and is not keen on logos. While goat leather is heavy, the simple style of the Louis Vuitton Suhali Lockit PM catches the eye. Smooth leather trim with contrast topstitching are perfect alongside golden brass hardware. For those who do not want to carry a heavier handbag, this may not be for you. Because the only option for carrying the bag is with the rolled leather handles, your arm may get tired easily. But it doesn’t mean that this bag is not gorgeous to admire. I would hope for a more luxurious lining, when the price is so high, but this handbag is merely lined with monogrammed textile lining. While I am not willing to shell out my credit card for this handbag, I do love it. Dimensions are 11.8″x 9.8″x 5.2″.

The Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag line is for the rational people out there, the people with a budget that actually stick to it. No need to pinch pennies and wonder why your handbag costs your mortgage, just buy a great bag that will eventually be replaced by another. While it may not be made with the most luxurious materials, the Marc by Marc Jacobs Aline Leather Tote is made beautifully. Tan grained leather with a funky oversized embossed button embellishment make this handbag laid back for everyday use. There is brass hardware, natural stitch detailing, and buckle detailed pockets on each end. The front of the bag also sports a large detail pocket. Plenty of pockets to separate all necessities.
